Another theme in the questions coming through from Natural Beauties is around children’s face paint and makeup. One of the best resources I’ve shared for many years is called Pretty Scary: Unmasking toxic chemicals in kids’ makeup. They recently updated report Pretty Scary 2: Unmasking toxic chemicals in kids’ makeup was developed and published by the Breast Cancer Fund and spearheaded by their Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.

Here’s what they did.

They read the labels of 187 products marketed to kids. Then they tested 51 of these products through third-party laboratories to see what toxic chemicals they contained.
