Sirens blared across the neighborhood. The lights from the ambulance and police cars shone throughout the streets. A lady by the name of Tammy made her way across the street. That is when she saw her two children being escorted from the back of the police vehicle towards the ambulance. Tammy immediately ran over and grasped her children in her arms. The police stopped her in her tracks and took the children away. Tammy was confused of what was going on. How did her children end up out of the house? Why were they with the police? A parent has the right to authority but in some households this is lost. Some children become out of hand and they misbehave. They tend to carry on as if they are the adults and make the decisions. They throw temper tantrums to get what they want; they do not respond well to time-outs, they repetitively present the same bad behavior. According to author Maguire-Jack, spanking should be implemented in situations such as this one, in order to have the child understand who has the upper hand (Maguire-Jack, Grosmoske, & Berger, 2013). Spankings are multi purposeful. Gaining authority within your household can easily be conducted when your children obey and follow rules. In order to develop this trait, a sense of knowing who is boss should be relevant. Spanking brings this sort of tension between a child and their parent. It gives a verge of understanding and ripens a relationship which establishes a role. Incorporate spanking when necessary, it will shape a role of power, creating a smooth connection between child and parent.
Normally, a parent has only their best interests for their children. When playing the role as parents, they commit their entire lives to the support of the children.
