In the article “Tips for Entrepreneurs” U.S. Small Business Administration’s Contributor Mariam Bramble encourages small business owners to never stop looking beyond the walls of their business. Be aware of the community in which they serve. Her tips serve as a valuable reference for any business to stay connected with the ever changing world outside while managing your business within.
She begins reminding us of Importance of staying connected to focus on their social networks. By stating “your network is your net worth” (bramble, np) then encourages finding a way to give back to the community. Giving back to your community shows your appreciation and commitment to the community you serve. She add credibility by providing links of reliable sources that give specific examples of ways to assist locally. Every community has a number of good charitable organizations to consider. Although she does not personally give statistics she refers to another article written by Lindsay LaVine of entrepreneur.com Entitled “The Power of Giving Back: How Community Involvement Can Boost Your Bottom Line” who states “82 percent of U.S. consumers consider corporate social responsibility (CSR) when deciding which products or services to buy and where to shop.” (LaVine, np)

Latest technologies and keep a watchful eye on the competition. (Bramble np) She emphasizes to always be a student to pay attention to the ever changing emerging technologies. Last but certainly not least she urges owners to stay in touch with their biggest assets their customers.(Bramble) Staying in contact with your customers is a very powerful way to evaluate your team’s effectiveness. By allowing your customers a platform to express the quality of service you stay on top of even minor discrepancy’s and have the ability to resolve them
