He talks about how back in the day families used the candle light and light from the fireplaces to bring them all together, thus inadvertently creating a family bond. He goes on to show us how in today's society with all of the technological advancements families don’t spend as much time together because of the ease and availability of the light bulb to be in every room of a house. In The way to rainy mountain by:N.Scott Momaday this text agrees with Morgan’s central idea. However Thomas Jefferson’s America, 1801 disagrees with Morgan’s central idea because they talked about how there westward expansion was good because they all came together and helped one another and got out of it. Yet The way to rainy mountain was different because in 1872 - 73 in that time there was a fire and all of their things were gone. I agree with Morgan’s central idea in the article because Morgan was right about everything that the people did to protect their little town. It was their duty to protect the people and the people that were trying to get in it and get them.…

This morning the focus of my meditation was on Tamar the beautiful young virgin daughter of the King David. No doubt she was waiting for the man she trusted God would one day bring to her… I was touched by the tragic irony of Tamar’s dress. She ripped the fabric of her robe as surely as Amnon ripped the fabric of her honour. What touched me most was the inappropriate response of her brother Absalom. No doubt he loved his sister, but here’s what he said to Tamar, “Be quiet and don’t take things to heart”(2 Sam 13:20).…

However, the professor explains that none of the theories is acceptable, and refutes each of the author`s reasons. Mountains beyond mountains by Tracy Kidder follows a doctor who grew up in a poor household and then followed his dream of being a doctor. He earned his degrees at Harvard and Duke and began his journey helping people. This book follows Farmer’s life in great detail, including his work and accomplishments. The book is split into 5 parts, each containing one part of his his journey. One of the biggest ideas that resonated with me was that Dr. Paul Farmer would spend huge amounts of money of individuals, but wouldn't the money be better spent if you could use it for multiple patients?…

We all have a passion for someone, something or an activity. I know one of Bob’s many passions was giving. Many years ago, Bob must have been taking a stroll through his special warehouse and apparently had me and one of my passions in mind when he came across a set of hiking poles. Soon after, I received a set of metallic green, Black Diamond poles with the adjustable thumb clamps for various lengths. Not the kind you have to twist and pull for the right length.…

These men risked their lives everyday to hunt animals and sell them for their fur. This may sound easy, but they faced animal attacks, starvation and harsh weather conditions.…
