Summary: The Secrets Of Your Handwriting

Improved Essays
Since personality tests and quizzes online do not seem to fully analyze personalities, one might look into graphology, or handwriting analysis. In the book The Secrets of Your Handwriting, Allan Conway defines graphology as “both a science and an art” that deciphers personality traits through handwriting (6). Not only is graphology interesting for one who is using it for personal benefits, but it is also used in court cases, where graphologists have provided handwritten samples that have solved cases. Because of the significance of graphology, it is important to look at its history, how it is done, and its uses.
Handwriting analysis has been done even before the time of Aristotle, who once said,
Speech is the expression of ideas or thoughts

The control group was the kindergarten class from the previous year, whose students progressed to first grade. Students’ legibility at the end of the school year was compared to other students’ scores who were taught using a different teaching technique called the D’Nealian style of writing.…

Neyda Borges is the author of “Why The Debate Over Cursive Is About More Than Penmanship”, an online article published in the StateImpact section of the NPR website. In this article, Borges discusses the debate about removing cursive handwriting from a school’s curriculum and whether or not it seems more than it is. She mentions how the real issue is not about teaching penmanship but that different socio-economic statuses affect many students in different ways and widen the “achievement gap.” She also argues that cursive is not the only thing that has been removed from the curriculum; other things such as learning grammar are no longer a part of it as well. Cursive is just one underlying symbol that leads back to one main issue: the advantages…

I think cursive handwriting is not very important for someone to learn. The reason i say that is beacuse people live threw technology on a daily basis. We do not really need to learn the importance of cursive handwritting because, no one will need to really write anymore if everything is done threw technology. As the narrator stated in the passage "technology is moving at such a rapid pace that even keyboards may soon be in danger of extinction". Just knowing something like that most people cant even type as much as they should know how.…

Assessments are designed to determine whether there is a problem, distinguish an individual strengths and weaknesses, predict the future course of disorders, classify the problem and provide useful tips for intervention. Clinicians use these ideas to assess the clients’ behavior by a set of guided questions. The Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) is a self-administered tool that provides information relevant to the clinical diagnosis, treatment and screenings for psychopathology (Morey, 2012). This assessment was created as an alternative to the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory that was designed to assess abnormal personality traits. The PAI was designed to be easily scored by hand and is characterized by a 344 item Likert scale…

I understand it a dying practice, but when there is no other easy way of doing things cursive will no longer be an option if it keeps getting put to the side right along with latin. as stated in the article "Cursive Is a Powerful Brain Tool", "Medical scans show that writing in cursive helps with fine motor skill development and stimulates both left and right parts of the brain." which to me is just another type of exercise altogether.…

Reardon and Bullock (2004) stated that the “six types of personality can be described in terms of degree of differentiation (flat or uneven), consistency (level of similarity of interests or characteristics on RIASEC hexagon for the first two letter of a three letter Holland code), and identity (stability of the type)” (p.112). Furthermore, an individual with the realistic personality type usually avoids being social and likes to participate in hands-on activities. An example of an occupation that matches the realistic personality type is a mechanic. Second, an individual with the investigative personality type is likely to be curious and analytical.…
