Summary: The Importance Of College After High School

On May 19,3 2015 a man named Jose was ending a major chapter in his life that consisted of getting up early,2 studying,2 and test taking. Jose was finally graduating from medical school. After that chapter ended he started a new one and that was to put his degree to work so,1 he got a job at a major hospital in San Antonio as a cardiothoracic surgeon. By doing so Jose had a stable form of income and was living comfortable. A few years later Jose was able to buy himself a house and support a family of his own. Jose began to think what would have become of him if he had not continued his education after high school. Many people believe that the benefits of a degree are not worth the financial cost and security. Nonetheless,3 education can benefit an individual’s future because of stability and cultural benefits.

It may also begin to mentally affect your idea of self-worth. According to Chris Blake author of “The Importance of College After High School Graduation” Blake’s study’s show, “…Going to college after high school teaches you invaluable lessons…exposure to experiences…and allows you to grow and evolve as a person as you move from young adulthood into adulthood”(Blake). What is being said here is that by going to college you taking a major stepping stone apart of life that many people aren’t taking, by doing so your self-worth is grater because of all the new experiences you will be exposed to.
