The residents do not need to worry about picking clothes for each day of the week because they have “uniforms”. All that they have to do is have a lot of the same clothes and wash them. They do not worry about who has the prettiest clothes and who look better especially since there is no color making life easier. They do not worry about what clothes to wear the week, what to wear for school, and the color of their clothes. As daily clothes they wear jackets/tunics and pants and they are also assigned night clothes, as they get older they receive new undergarments. The fact that they have specific clothes to wear really keeps kids in check, many kids in our world wear inappropriate clothes that makes them look older than they already are. In this world that does not happen because of their uniforms and that definitely makes their community better than ours. The narrator also said “There was new clothing: different undergarments for the females, whose bodies were beginning to change...” (Lowry Page 47) This also shows how clothing is better in Jonas’ world because the community rewards kids for dressing properly and growing up. That is the third and final reason behind why I believe Jonas' world is enhanced compared to our
