This essay is based on the efficacy of training for Support Staff in the management of dysphagia in people with learning disabilities (Chadwick et al.,2013), and Effectiveness of training Support Staff (Tredinnic & Cocks, 2013). The reason for choosing this subject is due to the fact that Dysphagia is an important issue for some people with learning disabilities in particular those with cerebral palsy, and also there is a high prevelance of dysphagia in people with other severe physical disabilities (Sheppard (2006) , which has huge implications for their safety, health and general wellbeing (Chadwick & Joliffe, 2009). Improving Health and Lives (2010) reported that solids or liquids going down the wrong way was one of the preventable causes
