In 2015, over 10,000 people have died in an alcohol related car crash. Alcohol has a major impact on humans in multiple ways. Around 7.2% Americans have something that’s called Alcohol use disorder (AUD). Alcohol can affect some of your major organs like your brain, liver, and kidney. Each organ responds different to the alcohol and causes different affects. Could you imagine living your life without a memory? Alcohol can cause that. When a female and a male drink a lot of alcohol it can cause you to have burry vision, slurred speech, difficulty walking, and slow reaction to things. According to Daniel W. Homer, A female has different affects that is alcohol related then a male. Alcohol for a female brain is more vulnerable to damage then male, also stated by Homer. The size of a brain is based on your height, size of your body, and your age. In men, they are usually bigger than a female but their brain shrinks as they get older. Alcoholic liver diseases (ALD) is caused by excessive alcohol intake. When someone who has ALD they can go through several stages. The stages are alcoholic fatty liver disease, alcoholic hepatitis, and cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is the ending stage, that means you will need a liver transplant but a lot of people never got a transplant and sooner after cirrhosis being found they passed away. Over 25% of alcohol deaths are because of ALD. Fatty liver is the earliest stage of ALD and is the most common alcohol-related disorder. This stage can go away if the person stops drinking. Alcoholic hepatitis is the second stage. This is when the liver swells and the liver cells began to destruct. Cirrhosis is the life threating stage. The liver will start scaring after 10 or more years of heavy drinking. The amount of alcohol that is being consumed plays a major part in ALD.
