This book does not appear to have anything on child psychology, but it does have a comprehensive history of sexism in Western cultures. I chose this book because I want to understand how we as a civilization have gotten to the point where we live within a patriarchy but are starting to question it. It should also help me understand why genetic predispositions like childbearing and natural strength determined the jobs people had during times that required hard labour. I have worked at a camp for a couple of years and I babysit a lot, so I am comfortable with the responsibility of being around kids. Also, I will be observing the classroom to get first hand knowledge of how gender develops in children so that my project is not be entirely reliant on unstructured working time. Additionally, I will read a couple books about gender development and how the patriarchy has evolved over time. I like to read and in the past wished that my projects involved more reading so this should be a positive
