Summary: The Case Of Adam Z

Decent Essays
The case of Adam Z, he was a teller for bank in Iowa. He was forging names of bank customers and making unauthorized withdrawals from their accounts. I agree with the court’s ruling that Adam was arrested and sentenced to two years probation. I agree because he needs to pay the bank back for the embezzled money. I do think he should go to jail for one year, and then have probation. He’s stealing the banks money and should be punish more for his crime. Mr. Z is also required to maintain a job unaffliliated with handling money. He has to report monthly to the probation office as well. If Adam completes his probation successfully, his record will be ordered expunged by the

Crucible Pre-Reading Response Today's court cases completely go against the statement that Justice is best determined in a court of law. An example of how justice isn't always best determined in a court of law would be a white teenager who killed four people in a car accident, and was only on probation instead of receiving a criminal sentence. In 2013 Ethan Couch a 16 year old white male was conducting a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol ,in the process he crashed and killed four other people. His sentence was supposed to be a maximum of 20 years in prison for the charge of intoxication manslaughter, instead this teenager was given 10 years of probation. The jury made this decision because his parents hired a psychologist that was…

This article is about whether or not a repeat juvenile offender’s history should be considered in a case now that he is an adult. Smith was sentenced as a four time offender in a breaking and entering due to the history he already had with the court system from his juvenile years; he did not think that this was fair due to the fact it was done before becoming an adult. I do agree with the court’s decision that Smith should serve current time plus what he is already been charged for previously while being an adult; the time should not be split, both sentences should be completed together. In my opinion, the major facts that lead to the judge’s sentencing decision were that Smith had twelve previous charges against him as a juvenile including seven felonies and three misdemeanors. This did not help him at all; all the judge could see was that he could not stay out of trouble and it seemed as though he did not learn from previous charges.…

It’s a difficult call for many individuals about whether or not to punish individuals or help them become a better person. While some crimes are inexcusable and lead to life in jail or even the death penalty so can more petty crimes which brings up the case as to whether or not both groups of individuals belong in the same place and if they deserve a chance to be brought back into society. In the Ted Talk by Adam Foss about a prosecutor 's view on the justice system, Foss explains how many individuals can correct themselves and move on to a new path of life. Similarly, Jessica S. Henry explained how the justice system is also flawed and how individuals can be helped and how the process can be improved. The justice system is flawed and that…

Throughout the evolution of mankind a legal system has been created to take care of situations like this. This system is mutually beneficial for all that take part in it. It works because no one can steal from you, you cannot steal from anyone, no one should harm you, you cannot harm anyone etc.. This creates a balance of peace and harmony in the world.…

Hi Brittni, Other than the fable about Adam's missing rib, I find the same scripture (Genesis 2:21) about Eve being made from Adam's rib to be allegorical rather than literal. To me it represents God's intent that women should be at man's side, to be a helpmeet, as the Bible says. I became convinced of this when I learned men and women have exactly the same number of ribs, because I heard the same story. It exploded everything I thought I knew about the Creation. Then I started doing more reading and learned there is another story about Adam from the Babylonian Talmud that records that Adam had a previous wife created for him named, Lilith, who refused any authority of Adam and also rebelled against God and Adam and refused to tend the Garden…

My Reaction: Welfare fraud is a very serious offense. Not only does it defraud the system, it also defrauds the American taxpayer of their hard earned money they paid in that ended up supporting this illegal activity. At the very minimum, welfare fraud is punishable by having to pay back the money stolen. Since these ten people were arrested on warrants, they will most probably spend two-to-six years in prison according to California state laws if they are convicted of larceny or perjury in court, as well as being ordered to pay restitution for their crimes (NOLO, n.d.).…
