2. The Absolutely true diary of a Part Time Indian is quite a mouthful for such a good reason. In many interviews, Alexie has clarified that Arnold is an extension of his own realities. Although the novel itself is not entirely true, it still explains the realities of growing up on a indian reservation and the uncomfortable life of poverty. As a child, Alexie recalls the times when he received his mother's geometry book and enrolled in a school in the small town of Reardan. Also, Alexie is using a double entendre with the word absolutely in the title. Sometimes in life, the truth isn't necessarily the actual truth. Unfortunately, lies and exaggerations have plagued the true integrity of oral tradition and moral stories have been looked down
