The Tasteful Touch Collection(TTC) is a handmade accessory line with products ranging from hats, jewelry, headbands, wreaths/flower arrangements, and phone cases. TTC was founded in 2013 by Keirsten Hoyle, a creative and innovative young woman who started the company as a Sophomore at Hampton University. Lastly, Canadians are viewed as being more “liberal” as Americans are deemed as “conservative”. (Five differences between Canada and the United States, 2017) TTC is a business that thrives on the liberal type of customer. Because most of our target market appeals to a younger consumer they tend to be trendy and flashy. Most conservatives are not usually seen with a charm bracelet and a suit. This is another reason why I believe that starting a business in Canada is moderately easier than the USA. However, there are some factors that are considered when working in any different country. We both use the dollar but the Canadian dollar’s currency is lower valued than the American dollar. (Five differences between Canada and the United States, 2017) Which means while doing business it may take us a while to acquire revenue success. Haiti is a low-income Caribbean country with a population of close to 10.7 million. (Overview of Haiti, 2017) Haitian Creole and French are the official languages. According to research foreign investors have major concerns with market challenges for Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) inflows. They were estimated in 2015 to only have an inflow of 104 million dollars for the entire country. (Overview of Haiti, 2017) Haiti is known for having very high port fees. Which makes it very difficult for foreign trade to enter the country.
Haiti has an overall poor economy and struggles constantly to afloat amongst other country markets. Haiti could use major improvement of their ports and lower their port fees as well as make sure their international airport is up to par for foreign travelers. (Brice Foundation, 2017) They are known to have political instability, inconsistent access to electricity, and corruption and bribery being a normal part of business. (Brice Foundation, 2017) Lastly, unemployment is high, roads and bridges are not unsafe to travel, and the Haitian government is constantly looking to improve their
