3. Based on whatever information you might have or find available, how well is Mary Barra doing as the CEO? Is she still the CEO? Has she moved on to another company, what shape is GM in today? Give me a brief analysis of the impact of her leadership.
Mary Barra is currently the CEO of GM and has been for the past three years. Under her leadership the company’s culture has changed from chaos to decisive, focused, responsive, and responsible (Phelan, 2017).
Today GM is in a better shape with updated technology, closed plants that were not productive or profitable, and made the customer service top priority. Also, increased feedback to catch problems early to get a solution (Phelan, 2017).
In conclusion, Barra leadership has been and is transformational and charismatic. She has proven that when committed to the goals and vision of a company turnaround is possible.
