Summary: Poor Scheduling Practices

Extended hours do not have to equate with poor scheduling practices. My daughter-in-law is also a dental hygienist and at her clinic, the office manager is responsible for balancing the schedule. Extended periods of low productivity are not an effective use of anyone’s time or clinic resources. My dentist offers extended hours two days a week but the appointment slots are limited and once they are full, additional appointments are not scheduled.
Do you think having extended hours only a couple of days a week would have been more successful for your clinic?
