Patients like Michael are the reason she entered this field. He reminds her of her mother as any patient with brain tumor does. She walks away slowly looking at her phone. She checks her schedule to see if she has time for a snack with Dylan. Dylan has been there for her when she always needs him. MaryAnn then walks over to her nurses and asked them to call her 10:30 appointment and ask them to be pushed back to 1. Most patients are okay with being pushed back due to her involvement with their children. She calls Dylan in a heartbeat while walking to her office. She sits down and waits for him to pick up. He was early and doesn't usually call my cell phone MaryAnn thinks to herself. She picks up the phone and for the first time she doesn't sound mean. Her and Dylan talk for the rest of MaryAnn’s walk to work. When she arrives at work she tells Dylan she will call him later when she is done.
