For this extended assignment I have chosen to look at how behaviour may affect children's or young people's development. Negative behaviour can be seen when the children's and young people's needs are not being met such as lack of sleep and when they are hungry. Difficult behaviour can be caused by a trauma or a crisis that has happened in the child's life. Children may show this kind of behaviour because they want to be the centre of attention or if they are not getting their own way and they may behave inappropriately in order to get their own way. Other examples that could affect children's behaviour include if a member of the family in the child's life such as mother or father has left and they may think that it's their fault .Also…

Peer pressure about drugs and alcohol Peer pressure influence teenagers because some kids want to be like their friends and follow along with their friends. I think what Laurie Halse Anderson, the author of “Speak”, is trying to say about peer pressure is that it’s very strong in high school and it’s hard for kids to stick up for themselves. I think Melinda Sordino is influenced by peer pressure when she goes to the party (Halse). In my life I have been pressured to drink, smoke, go to parties and ditch school. When it comes to peer pressure, Melinda and I have some in common like when it comes to going to parties and drinking (Halse).…

The influential role that one’s peers play in major and minor life choices carries significant impact. The desire that most persons feel to be accepted into the fold is one that is innately human. Peer pressure is often manifested in an unspoken code; therefore, the influential reality of it is frequently overlooked or not recognized. While this very term renders a pessimistic connotation, peer pressure can be dual in nature yielding both negative and positive results. The more one educates himself or herself on how his or her peers can unknowingly shape choices that he or she makes, the more likely he or she will gain freedom from this type of social propaganda.…
