During high school, I earned a paid internship in an Urban Health program: Pathway to Pharmacy in 2011. It was a summer program. I received a pharmacy technician license. I had on the job training in a CVS pharmacy. I operated cash registers to accept payment from customers. I cleaned and maintained equipment and work areas, and sterilized glassware according to prescribed methods. I ordered, labeled, and counted stock of medications, chemicals, and supplies. That year, I shadowed an oncology nurse at Children's memorial hospital. In 2012, I worked as the pediatric intensive care unit technician at the Children Memorial Hospital. As a student intern, I delivered medications and medical supplies to patient’s rooms, nursing stations and surgical rooms. I received, stored, and inventoried medical supplies. I am doing data entry and reviewing discrepancy reports for PATH study. This internship ended In July 2017 due lack of funding in grant. I am still working with the CHECK. I created two literature reviews for CHECK: alternative techniques for ADHD and community based health neighborhoods. I will be working on writing papers associated with the literature reviews. In addition, I am contacting and completing follow-up interviews of parents for another study known as “Sit Down and Play.” I also aid in focus groups. I currently working with this internship as well. In summer of 2017, I participated in the Research Training and Career Development Program (RTCP). I was placed within the CHECK Program. I created and performed literature reviews. I performed data analysis on Medicaid pharmaceutical claims with Microsoft Excel.
