Setting: The Pullman family live in a large townhouse in New York City. The story is also mostly set in Beecher Prep Middle School which is a new school where Auggie and a few other characters attend 5th grade.
Characters: One of my favorite parts about this book is the fact that the author allows the reader to view each character's point of view, this way you fully understand each character's thoughts and opinions. The main character is August Pullman who is born with an abnormality that makes his face looked squished and his eyes huge. This book takes you through every character's perspective because it makes you understand how it feels to be in someone like Auggie’s shoes and going through all the daily struggles of looking different. I think the moral of this story is that no matter how different a person looks based on their appearances they still have a heart and feel different emotions. Those people should not be treated any different then you. I can connect this story to my personal life because I had a close friend before who was a little different from most people.
