Wish You Well Summary The book Wish You Well written by David Baldacci is a realistic fiction novel with a setting that makes it sound you yourself have been there. The story begins with the family in a car moving from New York to Southern Virginia. The family consists of Amanda and Jack Carinal as parents of Lou and her younger brother Oz. The reason for them moving is because Jack Cardinal a well-known writer but is under paid looks for an opportunity to make more money in California. While in the car Amanda and Jack have an argument causing them to almost collide with another car but Jack got off the road and the car went on rolling. Sadly Jack Cardinal gets injured and dies and Amanda suffers from state of shock caused by the trauma. Now with a parent dead and unresponsive mother the two kids and their mother have to move in with their great grandmother Louisa in Virginia. Along the way the picked up a boy around Lou’s age named Diamond who also lives in the same mountains as great grandmother Louisa. As Lou and Oz go on living in Virginia they will learn to become true best friends with Diamond. Unfortunately, Diamond also dies after he chased his dog Jeb into a mine with dynamite stick seconds from ignition. Another event that occurs is Louisa being offered a good amount of money for her land by Southern Valley a gas company like many other people around except Louisa declined the offer. Although later on Louisa begins to get ill and try to take the land from her causing Cotton, a lawyer and friend of Louisa take the gas company to court. Amanda through all this is still in the state of shock although Cotton reads stories Jack
