The article analyzed in this essay is “Why the Best Kids Books Are Written in Blood” by Sherman Alexie. This article was written on July 9, 2011. Sherman Alexie’s article talks about how many books that have a darker topic or cover aren’t always bad things to have. He claims that many people and teens love those types of books since he writes books about those topics as well such as; depression, suicide, gang warfare, sexual and physical abuse, absent parents, …show more content…
By talking about this, he uses ETHOS, since he is using his own credibility to convince people that he is doing good things. The quote is also an anecdote that he uses as an example of people who have suffered through a lot of trauma. He uses a story to show his credibility and connect with the audience to persuade them. When he does that people will think he has more experience and is more reliable, so this is a step to convince the readers or audience to his side.
