Study 2 Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) Study : This study focused on the connection between DLPT-L and R and OPI-S proficiencies of Air Force Special Operations Command operators. AFSOC trainees participating in Initial Acquisition Training (IAT) were tested using DLPT and OPI to determine if DLPT ratings could be interchangeable with OPI speaking abilities. The amount of training AFSOC IAT trainees receives in language and cultural training, depended on the length of assigned language category. Categories I-II requires approximately 80 training hours annually, 40 of which should be self-study. Category III and IV 120 training hours annually, with 60 of self-study.
