After reading the article Transgender Today, written by Eve Glicksman, I was able to collect information about transgender and how public perception is changing, in a glorious way. A few of the changes we have seen over the past several decades with public’s perception of transgender is that “more studies are exploring treatment for transgender people who seek it” (Glicksman), transgender individuals are now being praised and supported more frequently, and health insurance plans are starting to be offered from multiple universities. In the beginning, being transgender was frowned upon, many would refer to transgender as “nature made a mistake” (Glicksman).
