The Story “The Stolen Party” by Liliana Hecker demonstrates the dominant conflict of Person vs. Person by showcasing the various problems/people Rosaura had to go through. Rosaura goes through numerous conflicts during the story which deal with Person vs. Person the first conflict is Rosaura and Herminia, Rosaura’s mother, arguing over the party Rosaura desperately wanted to go to, second conflict is the discussion between Rosaura and Luciana’s Cousin and lastly Rosaura and Senora Ines when Rosaura is leaving the party. Rosaura wanted to go to Luciana’s party but her mother was not allowing Rosaura to go because Luciana was the daughter of Rosaura’s mother’s boss and Rosaura’s mother refused the fact that Rosaura was Luciana’s friend but instead …show more content…
The maid’s daughter, that’s what” (Hecker 1) Rosaura mother was explaining to Rosaura that they were not real friends and that Rosaura would not go to the party as just a friend but Rosaura was contradicting what her mother said about how they are too poor to go to that party. When Rosaura was finally at the party she went into the kitchen where she was greeted by a girl with a bow, Luciana’s cousin, the girl did not know Rosaura and was telling that she was not a friend of Luciana. “You are not a friend of Luciana because I’m her cousin and I know all her friends. And I don’t know you” (Hecker 2) Luciana’s cousin told Rosaura that she was not Luciana’s friend because she knew all her friends except Rosaura, the girl was implying that Rosaura was not there because she was a friend of Luciana but she was there for another reason. As the party ended and Rosaura was met by her mother at the entrance they awaited for Senora Ines who was handing out bracelets to girls and yo-yo’s to boys as they left the party but when Rosaura turn came Senora Ines handed her two bills instead. “You really and truly earned this, thank you for all your help my pet” (Hecker 4) Rosaura at that moment realizes what her purpose was at the
