“Well that was strange.” spoke Allie. Jacob and Allie stood back up and headed down their driveway to the bus. When the children got onto the bus they began to tell their friends about the turtle and how it disappeared. Allie is more of a sporty type of girl. She plays softball and basketball. Allie and Jacob’s family is very competitive. They always have to win in whatever they may be playing.

“Good idea.” said Jacob.
Allie started to hit certain buttons on the motor and finally the turtle was turned back on. It raced around the yard like a racecar driving around a racetrack. The children just stood in awe looking at the turtle. The turtle mowed for about 10 minutes and then it stopped again. Jacob and Allie ran back over to where it was stopped.
“I wonder if this hurts the turtle?” asked Jacob.
“I don’t know. Maybe we can take out the motor because this is terrible.” talked Allie.
They gathered their things and headed back over to the house where the turtle lay on the soft, green, grass. Jacob turned the turtle back over to where their was an opening. Then he began to un install the motor.
“I cannot believe someone would do this to a poor animal.” spoke Allie sadly.
Finally around 7:00, Jacob got the motor taken out of the turtle. The turtle began to move slowly across the yard.
“We just saved the turtles life.” said Allie.
“Thanks for the help sis!” Jacob replied.
The children gathered their tools and went back inside for the night. They had, had a busy

Though, close in distance, Sailor Rock was much harder for Greg to get to from the north side, rather than the dirt road they had always used from the west. Limping uphill on one leg with a crutch and maneuvering through rocky and uneven ground, was difficult enough, until he had to pick his way through the prickly bushes and small trees where the ground leveled near its base. Since he couldn’t go very far without elevating his leg, it took him two full days to finally get there. The wild plums and berries he found along the way kept him from starving, but it didn’t give him enough energy to climb to the top and for his body to heal. What happened to the well-worn trail that opened up to the clearing at the base of Sailor Rock?…
