The song Scars to You’re Beautiful is one of my favorite songs right now, but that doesn’t mean it is perfect. Alessia Cara has a breathy tone quality, a lot of her lyrics are airy and then later on, during the chorus, her voice becomes stronger or richer. Alessia Cara’s diction is not the best, she often leaves the ends of her words hanging off, not ending them. It is a common theme in a lot of her songs; however, her beginnings of her words are clear and easy to understand. Throughout the whole song Alessia Cara is on pitch, she does not hit notes too high and does not sound strained on the softer parts of the song but she does sound like she has to force her voice on the louder parts.
