Poem “Thickness of Ice” explores the thematic study of relationships as it presents a metaphorical romantic relationship between ice skaters and lovers, the thaw and formation of ice to stages throughout a romantic relationship with the use of symbolism, body language, salience, colour and composition. The composition of the collage shows the stages of relationship or the changes in ice conditions in respective order from the top to the bottom.
