The Lausanne Covenant author starts of by telling the reader their beliefs. They believe that God’s good news for the whole world is the Gospel. More than 150 nations were involved in the International Congress of World Evangelization. They proclaim that they are “deeply stirred by what God is doing in our day, moved to penitence by our failures and challenged by the unfinished task of evangelization”. By reading the introduction of The Lausanne Covenant you notice how they are determined to spread the Gospel to everyone in the world.

They realize and are ashamed that they have denied their calling and failed in their mission. They did denied their calling and failed their mission because they withdrew from it. In a more positive way they dedicated themselves to the task of their mission. The Lausanne Covenant uses both the Old and New Testament Scriptures as their inspiration, truthfulness, and their authority. The message of the Bible isn’t just addressed to men, or just to women. It is addressed to both genders. They inform us that there is only one Gospel. There is only one Saviour. They declare that God is both the Judge and Creator of all men. The Lausanne Covenant believe that faith without works is dead. They tried to figure out and understand how to reach their own area and send missionaries out to other parts of the world, because western missions is disappearing at a fast pace. More than two-thirds of humanity have not yet been evangelized. The Lausanne Covenant admit that they are ashamed that this many people have been neglected in finding the gospel. That is their number one mission. The Lausanne Covenant has been positive and beneficial throughout their movement. They understood that people in the world has lost their way to Christ, but they are willing to help them to find it. They have impacted the global church by spreading the gospel to every nation around the world. They want everyone to receive the gospel. They also have impacted Southern Baptist. Southern Baptist take the gospel to people that have never learned nor heard it. They set goals in reaching all of the un-evangelized people, so that those people will not be neglected. They will help them find and understand the gospel. The Lausanne Covenant thanks God throughout the document and show their gratitude toward Him and His
