Summary Of The Last Lecture By Randy Pausch

In the speech the “The Last Lecture” given by Randy Pausch, he explains how he wanted to work as an engineer at DisneyLand theme park. He then applied for the job and he got a letter back that practically said that he could not work there. But instead of giving up he kept the letters and learned to correct his mistakes,he soon did get the job at the park. So take criticisms and use them as good advice. Randy Pausch took on the letters that rejected him and critiqued himself to get the job.
Good Advice is usually something that motivates you and what supposed to push forward and motivate you in order for you to accomplish something. But at the same time criticisms and rejections can be good advice as well. What criticism and rejections do is that they the show what was wrong with something that you did. What you can do with these things is that you can take them and turn them to an advantage. So if you were to retry what you did and now you have your mistakes fixed, moving forward will become faster.

He did apply and he said he got a letter back from them saying that he could not work there. He said “I kept all these rejection letters over the years, and their very inspirational”. So what Randy did is that he took the rejections and the things that kept him from this job and he fixed them so he could get the job.
Personally I do think that taking one's mistake and fixing it is really great advice. I may seem like a criticism at first but if you go back and correct those mistakes and fix what got wrong, then success could potentially be greater. This also does work, because Randy Pausch used this method for getting the job at Disneyland . Randy got the rejection letters and he specifically said that he worked and worked.
