The Gamble by Thomas E. Ricks was a non-fiction book talking about the Iraq war. The book comprised a number of characters each of which had only a short time in the book. So I couldn't remember the names. Regardless the book talked about all the different plans some commanders and generals would try and none would work. All the plans were leading them to failure. Eventually they found a plan to work and until Obama was elected was when things started changing a lot more. Despite the interest I have in military books this book at no point caught my attention. It would drag on and on about nothing. Granted at the beginning of the book was a bit interesting. Why? Well there was a huge scandal with the marines and commanders about killing
