The battle between books and movies is not usually a fair fight: The book is usually engaging to our imagination, and as such it tends to dominate. But the movie adaptation of Wonder, a book written by R.J Palacio, challenges that notion, and establishes itself as one of the most influential films in 2017. Wonder tells the story of 10 year old August “Auggie” Pullman. He suffers from a facial deformity, making social acceptance a challenge. “I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking it’s probably worse,” Pullman says in the first part of the story.
