In his article “The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food” investigative reporter Michael Moss describes the extraordinary science behind the taste of junk food and how irresistible it is to consumers. Due to the lack of good nutrients, health issues have been linked with foods that contain high fat, sugar, and salt. In 1999, Moss mentions a meeting that was held with eleven CEO’s that were in charge of Americas’ largest food companies including Kraft, Nabisco, General Mills, Pillsbury, Coca-Cola, and Mars. CEO James Behnke, in charge on Pillsbury, mentions “from the body’s fragile controls on overeating to the hidden power of some processed foods to make people feel hungrier still.”(472) Most junk food will have anyone craving for more
