Stephen Quinn is very intelligent and disciplined in what he does to survive in scarring and dangerous situations . Stephen’s dad is strong and brave by staying alive after the horrible head injury. While Jenny Green is playful and rebellious by having to attacking Settler’s Landing which was her home.

The novel,” The Eleventh Plague”, by Jeff Hirsch is about, after a scary disease killing millions, Stephen and his dad go place to place scavenging for equipment to use and food to eat. Therefore they run into some trouble with some slavers that makes Stephen’s dad have a bad accident that leads to a coma. Soon they find there way in Settler’s land which becomes trustworthy place until Stephen meets Jenny. Therefore a horrible thing happens and they find themselves in a battle that will change their lives forever.
There is more to survival than avoiding trouble and salvaging, it is courage. “The most courageous act is still to think for yourself.” That courage can save lives and it can protect the ones he loves.
