"Okay, this is getting weird," she mumbled, as she rushed over to her windows, closing and locking them. Her drawers were yanked open before she begins rummaging through them, in search of night wear. She abandons her towel, coming across an old oversized camping t-shirt. She pulled the shirt over her head and shimmied into my underwear, and shorts. She looked down the lengths of her body, amazed that the ancient shirt came down to the middle of her thighs. It has been years and it still fits the same. Had she really not gained any weight, or gotten the slightest bit taller since then? She only could shake her head at the irrelevant thoughts that clouded her mind. She obviously has more important matters to deal with. Maura …show more content…
"He's no one," the voice reassures her. The voice sounded so authentic like she was speaking to someone right beside her. Footsteps, she heard footsteps. Someone had found their way inside of her room. At this point, all Maura knew was trepidation. The warmth of his breath tickled her neck as he lowered himself down to her ear. The incident that occurred last night was fresh in Maura’s mind. She couldn’t stop thinking of that strangely handsome man. "Mom where were you last night," she interrogated. Melissa gave her daughter the strangest look, appearing to be more deranged than Maura already believed she was. "I was in my room." How was she in her room, but couldn't hear Maura calling for her? Nothing about this was adding up. "Where was I last night?" A look of concern graced her face as she said, "your room? Are these trick questions, Are you ok?" Maura disregarded Melissa’s previous question because she had one of her own. "Did the power come back on?" After hearing that, Melissa was genuinely concerned about her daughter’s mental health. She understood that there was enough happening in Maura’s life to cause such a strain on her. Melissa was a bit stressed herself. With the anniversary on her son’s death a few days away, how could she not be? "What, what are you talking about, the power never went out," Melissa declared hysterically.
