I was a different person. After riding The Titan, I realized that I was missing out on so much because of other fears. I became daring, and was interested in high-thrill jobs and activities. I felt like a completely new person, and I wanted to try everything that the world had to offer. Jonas, the main character in The Giver, also undergoes a similar transformation. Jonas is raised in a community where everything is decided for him. Once he becomes the Receiver of Memory, he goes through many different experiences that make him want to be different. The memory of snow is the memory that I can closely relate to. First, when Jonas stood on top of the hill, he feels the cold breeze, just like how I felt the air at the top of The Titan. Then, while he speeds down the hill, he feels glee and exhilaration, which is similar to what I felt when I sped down the rollercoaster. Finally, once Jonas nears the end of the slope, he tries to push his sled forward, not wanting the memory to end. I felt the same way when I was nearing the end of the ride. Both Jonas and I were different at the end of our occurences. Jonas had an abundance of questions to ask The Giver about the world and the time before Sameness. Similarly, I wanted to learn about what I missing out on and how I could continue doing something that I loved to do. In the end, both Jonas and I were changed in a great way by something other people may have seen as
