This book is about a ten year old boy named Alonzo King. Alonzo is fascinated by monsters and the show monsters at midnight. No one in his town believes in monsters but him and a teacher named Mr. Blake. His birthday is on Halloween and he wants to be known as the boy of a thousand faces. He paints his face and takes pictures with a Polaroid camera to see how many different faces that he can make. The whole town starts talking about an unknown image known as “the beast”.
