Summary Of The Book 'Counting By 7s'

Counting By 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan, published in 2013, is a book about a genious, yet socially awkward girl, named Willow Chance. This book takes place in present day, most likely to be America. Willow is put into a new school where her adopted parents believe she will better succeed. As soon as school starts though, she is in counseling with the awkward, overweight, school counselour, Dell Duke. It is before counseling where she meets her only friends Mai and Quang-ha. To see her friends more she gets Jairo the taxi driver, who claims Willow is an angel, to drive her to counseling early. Life is going decent, until both of her adopted parents are killed in a car wreck. This creates a problem for Willow, who will take care of her.
