In Vivekanda’s “Soul, God and Religion”, one of the author’s key points is that when we study different religions, we find that “In essence they are one”. Elaborating, Vivekanda explains that the same foundational principals are taught by all “true” religions. From my personal perspective, and in light of what I have learned about religion in the past, I agree that all religions are, in essence, the same. Religion is a set of guidelines which helps a person to lead a more fulfilling life, and a set of beliefs which give meaning to otherwise meaningless occurances.
