In the stories, “Raymond’s Run” and “Everything Will Be Okay,” the authors teach a very important and valuable lesson - it’s very important to be yourself. The authors show that by saying that you don’t have to be like your family and you can be your own person. In the story, “ Everything Will Be Okay” for James, everything will not be okay. James found a cat that he wanted to take home with him. His mom said he was not able to keep the cat. Then, his brother, Paul, who works as a veterinarian put the cat down and made James watch while he was doing that. Earlier that day, his father and Paul went hunting and brought home a deer. During dinner time, they were having deer. He looked out of the window and saw the deer, hanging by its head.
