Summary of racism
Racism in america has affected the “American Dream” throughout history and even into the present day. Racism is often misunderstood, blown out of proportion or even used as an excuse.To fully understand how this came to be a person has to go in depth back to the past to where it all began and work their way up to the present. The actual definition of racism is “prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.”(.merriam-webster.com) to our society that definition has changed a little bit, but for the purpose of this paper, that shall be the definition to be used.
