As they begin their journey, it continues quite smoothly for the first few days, until they enter India. Passepartout become curious with the Hindu temple and walks in with his shoes on, not knowing that this was strictly forbidden by Indian Priests and British officials. The conductor is afraid to cross the unstable bridge and the closest train is six hours away. They come up with the plan to cross as fast as they can and they just barely make it before the bridge collapses. They have another day of easy traveling until crossing the Wyoming plains.
