Written by Prather and Shuster, this article talks about their research involving Pea Crabs and sexual selection. In order for these crabs to reproduce, they must travel from host to host while searching for a mate. Throughout their lifetimes, the crabs will mate numerous times. Before their research began, Prather and Shuster believed that only some males will successfully conjugate and become fathers (Prather and Shuster 2015). To conduct their research they evaluated the number of times each gender mated and triumphantly had descendants. The strength and reproductive achievement of both genders was also recorded.
