“Noah Sacrificing after the Deluge” is a magnificent piece of art by Benjamin West that was concluded in 1800. The portrait illustrates Noah sacrificing a goat to God on a shrine. Noah wore a maroon outfit and postured with his hands raised as though he was praying to God. Benjamin West finished a single painting in an hour- long sitting, after he had worked on a sketch. Benjamin West has created a background that helps the audience to create amore vivid image of the portrait. Benjamin West continuously worked on portraits in 1888. The portrait has many other similar versions, but the original version is considered the most popular of all. In addition, the specialty of Benjamin West’s self-portraits is that they depict the emotion and mood of what he is going through or feeling at that particular period in time. This is a fascinating aspect as distinct artists have diverse ways of depicting their emotions and feelings.
