Short Story 300+ Words On a stormy evening in April of 76’, one man, Brent Jackson, discovered just how drastic of a downward spiral his life had taken in recent years. Cold, alone, hungry, and tried, he sat in longing desperation on the streets of New York. He prayed for hope, for a brighter future, and for a better tomorrow. He dreamed of money, a home, a family, and people that once loved him. Simply put, Brent wanted a place to belong. God would do no such thing because God would give up on none of his children. In a quick, whimsical moment, the night sky seemed to become brighter than ever as the stars all came out and a voice began to fill the chilling air. The voice claimed to be the Holy Spirit and it came for Brent. A part of the Holy Trinity had come all the way down from Heaven to help a man with a good heart find his way home. The starry dove spoke softly, but with great purpose. He explained the situation to Brent and ensured him that God did not want for him to be unhappy, that God would always be there for him, and that if only he would reopen his heart, there was still a way to reach salvation. He could turn his life around, fix all that he become broken, and strengthen his soul once more. Brent, stood up, took off his overcoat, put it under his right arm, and walked to a bus stop. He got on the bus and began to travel to a church about five miles away. He would pray for forgiveness, he would speak to the preachers, he would talk to the elders, and he would ask to become a part of the Church once more – the same place where he’d always belonged.
