Which even without having this disorder we can all relate too, we are all constantly struggling to figure out who we are, no one wants to face the ugliness they heave within themselves nor do we want to acknowledge our insecurities. This book was an intense read to be honest; Johnson didn’t dabble into a lot of information on Borderline Personality Disorder, not because I don’t think she wanted to acknowledge the seriousness of it, because we both know it is something that needs to be addresses and professionally handled, but I believe she was trying to remove the stigma that comes along with BPD. Instead, she let us experience it for ourselves page by page and it doesn’t loosen its grip until the end. But the ending was a bit confusing to me, which was my only flaw with the book, there was no transition, at one point she was leaving her current lover and next thing you know, she had settled down with a new lover elsewhere. There was no explanation and I would’ve really liked to know how she made such changes in her life. But still, the compassion and understanding that I had for her throughout this book was strong.
