We as a country should embrace the perspective of Nelson Mandela regarding legacies of historical globalization. Historical globalization is a great way to realize what we (westerners) have done to a large number of people. People today think it's a great thing, having the ability to acquire any item or good, but we as westerners need to make up for the many lives we've destroyed. However, many people in this modern world just don’t care, because we have dirt cheap products. Making a stand was something he was known for. Nelson makes this clear in his quote by saying “ we have a responsibility to protest in the name of universal freedom.” Globalization has had flaws and good parts in the past 200 years but that won't change for what it has done in the past, Trying to make a change would do everyone well, but why would anyone wanna? Goes back to the agreement of we have nice things so it's pointless to help the poor. All for ourselves and leave the poor
