Mandela's point of view based on his quote is that historical globalization is something we should embrace, and many would agree with this viewpoint. Historical globalization teaches us to not repeat what the past has done, such as the example of Canada’s Aboriginals. Even though most perspectives believe historical globalization is a concept to embrace, it should also only go to a certain extent. Many people living in the western civilizations think that globalization is good for us, but the true question is - would it be good for the majority that is affected by it?

Nelson makes this clear in his quote by saying “ we have a responsibility to protest in the name of universal freedom.” Globalization has had flaws and good parts in the past 200 years but that won't change for what it has done in the past, Trying to make a change would do everyone well, but why would anyone wanna? Goes back to the agreement of we have nice things so it's pointless to help the poor. All for ourselves and leave the poor
