Summary Of Humorous Weddings By M. A. Garcia

Decent Essays
The author M. A. Garcia, did a wonderful thing in my opinion. She decided to take time to help out a lovely couple from Phoenix, Arizona; who were interested in buying her eggs. The couple wasn’t able to have kids, that’s why she decided to sell her eggs. Women should donate their eggs to infertile couple, if they choose not to have any children. If I was to donate my eggs to an infertile couple, I would make sure that I’m donating them to the right people. People may not be able to have kids and wants kids, but they could be really destructive. I do agree with the author perspective. She donated her eggs to get money. She then realizes that donating her eggs for money isn’t that important. Giving someone life if the biggest gift that she can

With these women, whether or not they want children, they cannot have children due to medical or age restrictions. An example in the text is when the author’s friend was a genetic carrier of a fatal disease and she opted not to reproduce in the best interest of the child. With new genetic testing, you can determine if your baby would have a disease or disability. Some people like the idea of this testing so that they have a choice whether to bring a baby into the world or not. I would get tested genetically, before becoming pregnant and make my decision based off the results as to whether I wanted to have a child or…

By using the statement, “We offspring are recognizing the right that was stripped from us at birth – the right to know both of our parents,” she is implying that all children born in the same or similar situation feel the same that she does. (1) However, this may not be the case. She never mentions other situations or even evidence of children in the same situation feeling the same way. People go to sperm banks for many reasons. Stem cells have always been a “hot button issue” in America ever since 1998 when President Bill Clinton requested a National Advisory Commission to study the topic of stem cell research. Being that stem cells are a relatively new discovery and research has been heavily restricted, many people know little about them. Without prior background knowledge, it becomes easy for us to be manipulated in an argument. Logos is one of the trickiest forms of rhetoric used, because it employs reason and logic to persuade its audience. Supporters and naysayers alike use logos in their arguments to convince an audience of the promise or danger that they believe stem cells pose in society.…

If all women who did not want to have offspring put their child up for adoption, this difference would be even bigger. This causes more children to go without families, which could have detrimental effects on a child’s life. These include health risks, homelessness or bad housing, and involvement in the criminal justice system (“The AFCARS Report” 6). It is not morally right to force a person to live under such circumstances. If the woman is forced to go through with the pregnancy, it could cause the child to have a worse life.…

“In the USA, there are approximately two million infertile couples waiting to adopt, many times regardless of the child’s medical problems such as Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, HIV infection or terminally ill” (Brown, Kristi). With so many couples or women unable to have their own children, abortions limit the number of possibilities these people have to adopt. Many women choose abortion because of financial reasons, being a single parent, age, or not feeling as if they are responsible enough to be a mother. This is another reason why adoption is a better option for women who are thinking of aborting their…
