He's painting was covered with paint over it with solid coat of Caltrans gray and judging by the paint, it looks like it was an official wipe-out. It was Located along the side of the 101 freeway. He was upset because he thought his painting was no longer there and he wanted his painting to be taking care of because that was one special painting to him.
