Within this essay I want to compare the stories of Beloved and A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings. As a viewer reading these books, and watching the movie Beloved I wanted to dig deeper on the perspective of terror and discrimination that can fall in line with these books. Also, to look deeper as a viewer of why the authors decided to put the uses the supernatural aspects with in the stories. I believe that viewers can look deeper into a story based on the discrimination and the supernatural aspects which can make the story seems more interested in the eyes of the viewer.
First to begin with the similarities of these two stories. To start off looking at the supernatural perspective of the stories. In the story Beloved, there are different ways of viewing supernatural aspects within story. This story has ghosts and spirits that haunt the house of the protagonist in the book. Get a sense of how Supernatural can bring fear within the story by seeing it between Sethe and Denver home. Even though both individuals are Supernatural characters, the old man is more so trying to escape and not terrorize anyone, but in the beginning of Beloved there seem to be more terrorizing within the book, then it was in The Old Man with Enormous Wings. The old man sees more at peace and calm then beloved seems, and even though they both was discriminated, both are different in many ways of how they present themselves. I believe that the author wanted to make the old man’s feel calmer because being an old man, because he must not have enough energy to release terror, or he may have been different than what the crowd thinks of
