Medication errors in the healthcare facilities are continuing to rise, which can contribute to increase in cost, and may result to death. The purpose of this evidence based project proposal is to identify clinical concerns that needs change and how it applies to a nurse informaticist, by applying evidence-based practice and interventions. Evidence based practice is an approach to problem solving, which applies to clinical practice settings, and is integrated based on thorough use of the research evidence, clinical expertise, in addition to patient morals, standards, and choices (thecochranelibrary, 2013). In search of literature reviews for evidence, there were several databases identified such as Cochrane library, CINAHL Plus, ProQuest central, google scholarly articles, and Pub Med, which are all online in South University’s library. PubMed is a database that relates to information science, healthcare and medicine. CINAHL plus is a comprehensive research database that encompass nursing and allied health. ProQuest provides scholarly journals, reports, news contents and more.
In reviewing the articles for this proposal project, it was noted there were several that were older than five years, with mixed reviews, which makes it really interesting to elaborate on the various viewpoints.
